Kareena Kapoor weds Saif Ali Khan on October 16 but the new bride will be back to work immediately after the ceremony. The Pataudi nawab's newly-wed begum will take to the studio floors to shoot her much-touted item number for Salman Khan's Dabangg 2 within weeks of the wedding gala. Since Salman plans to release Dabangg 2 on December 21 as this year's big Christmas release, Kareena has agreed to accommodate dates for the item song amid her hectic post-wedding schedule.
Dabangg 2 marks the return of Salman in his maverick Chulbul Pandey avatar opposite Sonakshi Sinha, who shot to stardom with her very first movie that became 2010's biggest blockbuster. Malaika Arora's item dance, 'Munni Badnaam Hui' in Dabangg became a rage and Kareena is expected to top the success of that number.
Farah Khan, who choreographed 'Munni Badnaam Hui', will once again direct the moves of the Dabangg 2 item number. Although 'Munni Badnaam Hui' was composed by Lalit Pandit, Kareena's item number in the sequel will be created by Salman's favourite composer duo Sajid-Wajid.
Earlier reports had stated that Sajid-Wajid would be creating a remixed version of an old hit for Kareena's item dance but Salman seems to have subsequently demanded an original track. The focus right now, according to sources in the film's unit, is to make Kareena's item number a distinct one, considering she has done two item dances in succession over the past year - 'Chammak Challo' in Ra.One and 'Halkat Jawaani' in Heroine. Insiders reveal Kareena is lining up a sexy number for Dabangg 2, so she plans to maintain a slim figure to show off in the item song.
Obviously, she will go slow on the wedding savouries. Meanwhile, the Saifeena wedding is scheduled to take place at Pataudi town in Haryana and will be followed by a grand celebration in Mumbai.
Right now, preparations are on in full swing in the ancestral Pataudi palace with less than 10 days to go for the marriage. Kareena's first release in a starring role after marriage will be the thriller Talaash, co-starring Aamir Khan and Rani Mukerji. The film is slated to open on November 30. Next year, she will be seen in Prakash Jha's political drama, Satyagraha.
